Chronode App
The Chronode App is a time tracking application for macOS that:
- Automatically monitors time spent in an application
- Stores all data locally on your Mac
- Provides analytics on your usage patterns
- Requires no internet connection to function (Pro features require internet connection for license verification at app launch and update checks; if verification fails, Pro features will be disabled but the app continues to function in free mode)
Acceptable Use
Website Use
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use automated tools to scrape or download content
- Transmit malicious code or interfere with website functionality
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
App Use
You may use the Chronode App in accordance with its intended purpose. You must not:

Your Data Ownership
- All time tracking data generated by the App belongs to you
- We have no access to your App data as it's stored locally
- You can export or delete your data at any time

Data Collection and Privacy
Automatic Data Collection
By using the Chronode App, you agree to our automatic collection of crash reports for debugging and app stability purposes. These reports contain technical diagnostics with sanitized file paths to protect your privacy.
Optional Analytics
The App includes optional anonymous usage analytics, which are disabled by default. You may enable or disable analytics at any time in Settings. When disabled, no usage data is collected or sent.
Licence Verification (Pro Users)
By activating a Chronode Pro licence, you consent to the collection and processing of:
- Your licence key and email address
- Your Mac's hardware identifier (UUID) for licence enforcement
- Verification checks at every app launch and during update checks to validate your licence

Pro Upgrade Purchases
Your Statutory Rights
When you purchase a Pro upgrade, you have a statutory 14-day cooling off period under UK consumer protection law. However, by purchasing and immediately activating the Pro features, you expressly agree to waive this right as required by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Our Discretionary Refund Policy
While you waive your statutory cancellation right upon activating Pro features, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. We may offer discretionary refunds within 14 days of purchase in the following circumstances:
- The Pro features don't function as described in our documentation
- You experience technical issues with Pro features that we cannot resolve after reasonable support attempts
Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.
How to Request a Refund
Email us at support@chronode.app with:
- Your purchase receipt or Stripe transaction ID
- Your registered email address
- Brief explanation of your refund request
- Details of your Mac model and OS version
We typically respond to refund requests within 2-3 business days. Approved refunds will be processed through Stripe to your original payment method within 14 days, and may take an additional 5-10 business days to appear in your account.
After Refund
If your refund is approved, your Pro features will be deactivated and your account will revert to the basic version. You may continue to use the basic version as long as you wish.
Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will not be provided:
- More than 14 days after purchase date
- For violations of our Terms of Service
- If you've previously received a refund for this product
- If issues are caused by incompatible third-party software, system modifications, or use outside our stated system requirements
Your Consumer Rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Pro features must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If Pro features are faulty and we cannot repair them, you may be entitled to a price reduction or full refund under your statutory rights, regardless of the time limit above.
Disclaimers and Warranties
App Performance
The Chronode App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Compatibility with all hardware or software configurations
- That the App will meet your specific requirements
- Complete accuracy of time tracking in all scenarios

Website information is provided for general informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep information current but do not guarantee accuracy or completeness.
System Requirements
The Chronode App requires:
- macOS 14.6+ (Sonoma) or later
- Compatible software for full functionality

To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- We are not responsible for data loss (though the App stores data locally)

App Updates and Support
